Tracheotomy Tube is easier on the airway compared to airway intubation and provides a more reliable airway, reduces the rate of accidental extubation and improves patient comfort. Patients also tolerate tracheotomy better than transoral intubation and therefore benefit from less sedation. The cannula for tracheotomy has less resistance, a smaller ineffective lumen, increased airway secretion removal and improved patient comfort.
